WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia has
reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, -the existence of an
emergency during the pXeriod from December lst through December 31st, 1957 which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of
Libraries, Auditorium, 14useums and Stadia, Bureau of Auditorium, more tnan eight
hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating systems and also to supervise
during various activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trained help available to work during hockey games, Christmas
parties, Women's Institute, and Farmers union Convention held in the
building. This time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of
the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
