OVFICE �OF THE CITY CLERK _ COUNCIL OLUTION- GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY / COMMISSIONER DATE WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accgrdance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from December 16th to December 31st, 1957 inc.,. which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Making repairs to Filtration Plant and McCarron Pumping Station equipment. (2 ing extra shifts at Filtrationaind at various pumping stations. (3) Work Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains and service connections. (4) Taking emergenc calls at Storeyard. (5) Driving countryK and from work. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and 4 circumstances: 1� Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. 2 Illness of employees on regular shifts. 3) In order to give consumers water and fire protection as soon as possible. (4) Nights and Sundays. (5) On account of scattered work locations. THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
