1MREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has retorted, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City* Charter, the existeence
of an emergency during the period from December 1, 1557 to De-
cember 31, 1957, which rendered necessary the em-ployment of
certain employees of the Department of Public Safety for more
than eight hours per day, or forty hours :�er week, in doing;
the following work:
Maintenance work in the Bureau of Building
Maintenance and answering ambulance calls, and IIHEREAS, this
emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circulii-
stances:
To replace employees on sick leave and vacation
THEREFORE BN IT RESOD: That the prover city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work
in accordance with the provision of the Council's Salary Or-
Council File No. 185611 —By Robert F.

Resolved, That the proper city offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department
of Public Safety for extra employment
as described in the resolution.
