Dear Sir:
In regard to the application made by Wm. H. Richman, Jr. for
permission to install and operate a filling station for the Cities
Service Oil Company, to be located at the southeast corner of Snelling
and Wynne Streets.
This will be a private filling station to service these over -
the -road automobile carriers. They wish to install one island, two
pumps, one - 12,000 gallon underground gasoline storage tank at the
above location.
We have investigated the foregoing and report that such an
installation at the desired location would not greatly increase the
fire hazard in that vicinity.
Respectfully yours,
Howard J. Sc 1.1, Chief

Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of the Cities Service Oil Co. for a
permit to construct one 16 ft. island with two pumps and to ,install one 12,000
gallon gasoline storage tank on property located at the SE corner of Snelling
Ave. and Wynne St. The property is described as part of the south 2 of the
north z of the northwest I of Section 27, Township 29, Range 23 having a front-
age of 230 ft. on Snelling and 660 ft. on Wynne. The property is zoned as
Light and Heavy Industry.
The property is presently used as a new car parking terminal with a private
filling station to service the trucks which transport cars. The applicant
proposes to add the one pump island and the one storage tank to the present
operation. These are to be located to the south of the existing facilities
and the proposed expansion will be served by the existing driveway from
Snelling Ave.
The adjacent land uses are :?s follows: to the west across Snelling Ave.,
Shiely Sand and Gravel Corp,; immediately to the south, an auto repair
garage and equipment storage yard; to the east auto parking storage area;
and to the north across Wynne St., single family horaes.
The plans meet existing standards and field investigation discloses no
objection from the standpoint of adjacent land use or traffic.
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends that the
permit be granted in accordance with plans approved Dec. 5, 1957.
