RESOLUTION
Aj�JT PAUL, MINNESOTA ��
WfiEREAS, the Minnesota Poliution Controi Agency (MPCA), working with the Minnesota
Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Metropolitan Council, was awarded $625,000 in
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds from the Federal Highway Administration to
retrofit publiciy-owned heavy duty diesel vehicles with emission control devices; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has volunteered to work with the MPCA partnership
in order to retrofit heavy duty diesel vehicles with diesel oxidation catafysts; and
9 WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Gontroi Agency has identified 32 Public Works diese�
10 vehicfes which would benefit from the installation ofi diesel oxidation catalyst units (DOCs); and

12 WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has received the grant funding for the cost
13 of the DOCs and installation; and

15 BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council on behalf of the City hereby authorizes the acceptance
16 of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Federal Highway Administration grant funding for the
17 installation of DOC units on 32 City vehicfes.
