Whereas, John Shaughnessy, an em-
ploye of the Department of Public

WHEREAS, John Shaughnessy, an employe of the Depart-
ment of Public Safety of the City of Saint `Paul, was injured
on April 18, 1957, in a third party accident, while engaged
in the performance of his duties for the Department of Public
Safety, and the City has incurred medical expenses in the
amount of $204.10 therefor, and the employe, by reason of
said injury, was disabled for work`for a period of 17 working
days, being paid the amount of $306.01 therefor; and
WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated by the
parties whereby said employe will receive the sum of $2,400.00,
and that of the amount of $510.11 to which the City was subro-
gated, the sum of $127.52 r€ presenting the attorney's fees
was deducted, leaving $382.59 to be paid to the City toward
its expenses and wages paid the employe; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, The proper City officers are hereby
authorized to accept said settlement, solely for the
amount due it in connection with the personal injury
sustained by said employe, in the amount of $382.59, on
behalf of James J. Collins, the third party involved in
said accident, said amount to be credited as follows:
to Fund 31 -G1 -B, $204.10; to Fund 7 =C1, $178.49.
