WHEREAS, Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect, having requested
the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any co$plaints
about the expense incurred by-the City of Saint Paul in removing a
dangerous structure at 354 Chestnut Street, more particularly described
as Southeast I of Middle 11,3 -of Lots 7 and 8, Block 53, Rice & Irv-iriets
Addition, St. Paul, Minnesota; the.City Council held a public hearing
-'on October 56,1957 to consider the expense and to confirm the amount
thereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the City Council, pursuant to C. F.
No. 174152, approved July 15, 1955, published July 23,;1955, set a
public hearing to consider removing the dangerous structure, and the
City Council by C. F. No. 174571, approved' August 12, 1955, published
August 20, 1955, ordered the wrecking by and at the separate coet'.and
expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof, and
the City Council by C. F. No.-174970, approved September 13, 1955,
published September 17, 1955, directed the Commissioner of Parks, Play-
-,grounds and Public'Buildings to enter upon the premises and wreck and
remove the building thereon and do any and all things therein necessary
for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property, and that the
City of Saint Paul has incurred the expense of $132.50 in removing said

WHEREAS, it-appears that Marvin M. Flater and Myrtle 0. Flater,
1324 Fourth Street, White Bear Lake, and Carl J.,Flater, 238 W Kellogg
Boulevard, St. Paul 2, Minnesota; are'the owners of the premises and
copies of the proceedings herein having been sent to Attorney General,
State of Minnesota, 102 State Capitol; Commissioner of Taxation, 209 State
Office Building; Leonard C. Seamer, Land Commissioner's Office, 286 City
Hall; and Land Commissioner, 113 City Hall; all in Saint Paul, Minnesota;

RESOLVED, that we, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul,
do hereby confirm the amount of $132.50 to be the fair, true, and
reasonable amount for such services incurred in removing the dangerous
structure; and be it

As you will note the final paragraph directs the City
Clerk to file in the office of the Register of Deeds
a statement of expense incurred, for the purpose of se-
curing a lien on the property in accordance with Sec-
tion 107.7 of the Building Code. If you will refer to

0. Flater, 1324 Fourth St., White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and
Carl J. Flater, 238 W. Kellogg Boulevard, St. Paul 2, and
copies of the proceedings were mailed to Miles Lord, Attor-
ney General, State of Minnesota, 102 State Capitol; Com-

of Deeds for the County of Ramsey, pursuant to Ordinance No. 7210 of the City
of Saint Paul, as amended, Section 107, for the purpose of registering a "lien
