COMMISSION
WBFJMO, the Commissioner of Pablic Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from October 1st to October 15th_1957 inc., which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water
Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the following work:
(1) Supervising repairs to broken water main on Pleasant Ave:,
and the laying of new main along Shepard Road.
(2) Handling meter reading cards received in mail on Saturday:
AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:

2 In order to have readings ready for billers on next business day:
THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized.to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446:
