RESOLUTION REQUESTING A REVIEW OF OTHER FINAA'CLNG TO MEET THE COLLECTIOA' NEEDS OF
THE SAINT PAUL PUBLIC LIBRARY, THEREBY PERMITTING CUZTURAL STAR RESOURCES TO BE USED
FOR OTFIER PURPOSES
WAEREAS, the 2009 Sudget for the Library Agency identified the use of $178,645 in financing from Cultural STAR to assist
with meeting the collection needs;
WHEREAS, the use of Cultura] STAR by the Library Agency reduces the resources available for other pueposes;
WHEREAS, identification of other ;mancing methods would be advantageous;
WHEREAS, interest rates may be lower than budget for the bond issues now before the City Council;
WHEREAS, these lower rates may present just one example of an additional fina�cing resouece that could be applied to the
needs of the Library Agency;
RHSOLVHD, that the Ciry Council requests the Mayor to review and identify other financing for the needs of the Library.
