An ordinance granting permission to Waldorf
Paper Products Company, to install, maintain, and
operate an 811 water line running east and west on
Wabash Avenue, 51011 north 'of the south property
line of Wabash Avenue, commencing at aint
approximately 2251 east of the center line of
Raymond Avenue and extending approximately 2701
easterly. This is an emergency ordinance rendered
necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health, and safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That permission is hereby granted to Waldorf
Paper Products Company, to install,, maintain, and operate an 8t1
water line running east and west o Avenue, 51011 north of
the south property line of Wabash Avenue, commencing at a point
approximately 2251 east \,ofd -the center line of Raymond Avenue and
extending approximately 2701 easterly.
Section 2. The Commissioner of Public Works is hereby
authorized to issue a permit to said Waldorf Paper Products Company,
for the installation, maintenance, and operation of said water line,
upon its compliance with the following conditions, viz:
1. Said permittee shall construct said water line at its
own expense, under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the
Commissioner of Public Utilities and the Commissioner and Chief Engineer
of the Department of Public Works, and in accordance with plans approved
by said Chief Engineer.
2. Said permittee shall pay the cost of engineering and
inspection of said work, and for the publication of this ordinance.
3. Said permittee shall properlyprotect all excavations
made in the street both day and night so as to avoid all damage or
injury to person or property; shall properly fill and tamp said street
to-avoid settling, and shall restore said street to its original condi-
tion.
4. Said permittee, after the inception of said work, shall
prosecute the same continuously, with diligence, and fully complete said
work, to the satisfaction and approval of the Chief Engineer, on or
before January 1, 1958.
5. Said permittee sha11 furnish a bond to the City of Saint
Paul in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) conditioned to
comply with all the terms of this ordinance and to indemnify and save
harmless said City from all liability, loss, judgments, suits, costs, or
expense that may--accrue to person or property occasioned by the making
of said improvement or arising out of the same.

6., Said permittee shall, within ten days after the
passage and publication of this ordinance, file a written acceptance
thereof with the City Clerk.
Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health, and safety.
Section 4.. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval, and publication.

A request has been made to this office by the Waldorf Paper
Products Company to install an 8" water line on Wabash Avenue at their
own expense.
The 8" water line will run East and West and will be 5'0" north
of the south property line of Wabasha Avenue. 'it will commence at a
point about 225' east of the center line of Raymond Avenue and extend
approximately 270' easterly.
Will you kindly prepare such an ordinance.
