Dear- Sir:
This is in the matter of the - application of the Gulf Oil, Corpo-r --
ation for .a, permit" to expand a filling station- operation adjacent
to the southeast corner" of Beacon. and University. The: pro-
perty ie described is lots. 33,- 39 inclusive; Howard Park.
The property ig zoned 'Light Industry."
The proaperty Is presently occupied by an abandoned filling
station building and is used for off - street parking by persons
employed in the area.
The applicants propose to remove the existing building and
build a larger ~structure on the site. There will be three means
of access to 'tlhe property, two driveways from University and ,
one from Beacon. The- property will be suitably fenced and
surfaced in accordance With. existing, standards.
The property has a frontage of 144.63,' on University and
124.53' on Beacon. The plans approved August 3.0, 1957 meet
existing filling station standards and have, been approved-as to
layout. and operation by the Traffic Engineer. Field investi-
gation discloses no objection from. the standpoint of adjacent
land us.e or' traffic.
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends
that this permit be, granted in accordance with. the .appli.cant's .
plans approved August 3.0, 1957.
Sincerely,
G. D Lo s
