WHEREAS, Truman. A. Newberry, an employe of the
Department of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was
injured on November 2; 1957, in a third party =aaident while
engaged in the performance of his duties for the Department
of Public Safety, and the City has incurred - ;medical expenses
on behalf of said employ in the amount of $29.25 therefor,
and the employe, by reason of said injury, was disabled for
'work from November 2, 1957, to November 16, 1957, being paid
salary in the amount of $155.39 therefor; and
WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated by the
parties whereby said employe will receive the sum of $1,365.36
in settlement of his claim against the party causing the
accident, and the City will receive the sum of $184.64
for its medical expense and salary paid to the employe;
and that the office of the Corporation Counsel is in possession
of a draft of Mutual Service Casualty Insurance Company in
that amount of $184.64, on behalf of its assured Kenneth
Brler,;f the third party involved in said accident, now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the pro06' City officers are hereby
authorized to accept said settlement, solely for the amount
due it in connection with the personal injury sustained by
said employe, in the amount of $184.64, on behalf of the third
party involved in said accident; that of said sum, the amount
of $29.25 shall be credited to Fund 31 -G1 -B, and the amount of
$155.39 shall be credited to.Fund 7;F -1.
