Whereas, the Council of the City of Saint Paul has
duly canvassed the returns of the votes cast`at the City Special
Election held in said City on the 4th day of. November, 1958, upon
the ratification or rejection of Ordinance No. 11326 entitled:
"An ordinance authorizing and providing for the
issuance of Twenty Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($20,500,000.00) par value of the bonds of the City of Saint
Paul, Minnesota, upon the approval thereof by the electors of
the City of Saint Paul, for the following purposes, viz:
For the purpose of acquiring school sites and grounds,
and constructing and equipping of new school buildings and
additions to existing school buildings, and for the reconstruction,
repair, betterment,,.remodeling and equipping of existing school
buildings. 1.
This is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for
the - .preservation of the public peace, health and safety ", sub-
mitted to the electors of said City for ratification of re-
-jection; and
Whereas it appears from said returns and the canvass
thereof that 85,951 electors lawfully voted at said election
38,757 of whom voted in favor of the ratification of said or-
dinance, and 479194 of whom voted against the ratification of
said ordinance, and that the majority of those voting on said
.,proposition declared against the ratification and adoption of
said Ordinance No. 11326; therefore; be it
Resolved, that said Ordinance No. 11326 be and it is
hereby declared to have failed to receive a majority of the votes
cast thereon, and therefore to have failed of passage.
