"� ' ?� OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK _ COJdNCIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSION WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has:reported in accordance with Section -53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 16 to 31, 1958, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching,*motor vehicles for all emergency Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & Taking complaints at city yards Drawing plans for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs work hol And WHEREAS, This emergency arose,by reason of the circumstances: Council File No. 189790 —By Adrian P. Winkel— Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorised to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra -employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council November 4, 1958. Approved November 4, 1958. (November 8, 1958) following fates and -- Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, picking up garbage, taking complaints at city yards, completing plans for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, in- specting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
