WHEREAS, Leonard Lopez, an employe of the Department
of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was injured on
August 31, 1958, in a third party accident, while engaged
in the performance of his duties for the Department of Public
Safety, and the City has incurred medical expenses in the
total amount of $19.25 therefor; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said accident, the squad
car driven by said employe was damaged to the extent of $246.94,
registered bill No. 3 -2886 being issued for that amount; and
WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated by the
parties whereby said employe will receive the sum of $25.00
in settlement of his claim against the party causing the accident;
and the office of the Corporation Counsel is in possession of
draft No. G -02396 of the M.F.A. Mutual Insurance Company,
payable to the City of St. Paul in the amount of $266.19,
the total amount of property damage to the City's squad car,
as shown by Registered Bill No. 3 -2886, and the amount of
medical expense incurred by the City on behalf of said employe,
now, therefore,'be it
:..
RESOLVED,' That the proper City' officers are hereby
authorized to accept said settlement of $266.19, from the M.F.A.
Mutual Insurance Company, insurer of.Wilma Vonstrohe, the third
party involved in said accident, and to execute the necessary
releases, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That of said settlement of $266.19,
the amount -of $246.94 shall be credited to payment of Registered
Bill No. 3 -2886, and the amount of $19.25 shall be credited to
Fund 31 -G1 -B.
