Commissioner Milton Rosen
Department of Public Utilities
City of St. Paul, Minnesota
Dear Sir:
At hearings before the Railroad and Warehouse Commission in
1956 concerning the routing of the Falcon Heights - Rice -So. St.
Paul bus line, a request was made for extension
-of the Rice
Street service north of the railroad crossing at Ivy Avenue
which had been for many years the northern terminus of this
line. At that time the bridge over the railroad tracks
prevented any extension of bus service, and it was agreed
that when this bridge was remodeled and strengthened, the bus
line would be extended to Arlington Avenue and thence westerly
on"Arlington rejoining the present route at Dale Street.
This Rice Street bridge improvement has now been completed,
and the attached resolution covers the approval of the City of
St. Paul on this change of routing which will be necessary for
its consideration by the Railroad and Warehouse Commission.
The second resolution attached hereto covers an extension of
the Dale Street line from its presently authorized terminus at
Maryland to Arlington Avenue in order to meet the north route
of the Falcon Heights -Rice Street line as revised.
