RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the purchasing
Committee therefor, and hereby awards contract for furnishing Domestic and
Foreign Periodical Subscriptions and Domestic Newspapers to the St. Paul
Public Library during the year 1959, to WESTERN NEWS COMPANY in accordance
with City specifications and the Formal Bid #7300 of said Western News Company
at a contract price of $5,096.91, such bid being the lowest and said Western
News Company being a reasonable and reliable bidder and the Corporation Counsel
be and hereby is authorized to draw up the proper form of contract therefor and
the proper City officials are hereby directed to execute said contract on behalf
of the City of Saint Paul.
