RESOLVED, That an extra in the amount of $1,030.00 be
allowed under Contract L- 5938 -A between the City of Saint Paul
and Dean Lundholm Construction Co., Inc., said contract for
General Construction of Three Fire Stations at - Marion and
Front #22, Maryland and Herbert #9, and Edgcumbe Road and
Saint Paul #19, Saint Paul, Minnesota, and said extra to cover
the removal of peat and undesirable dirt down to rock and re-
placement with pit run sand for,the driveway area in front of
Fire Station 119 and also for the cross -over between Edgcumbe
Road; this work having been requested by the Commissioner of
Pzub11c Safety, and agreement made with the Contractor, and a
memorandum of said agreement having been filed with the Comp-
troller and countersigned by him. `

Contract Number L- 5938 -A was awarded Dean Lundholm Construc-
tion Company, Inc. for General Work in connection with
Three Fire Stations at - Marion and Front #22, Maryland and
Herbert #9, and Edgcumbe Road and 'St. Paul #19, Saint Paul.
During the course'of the work under this contract, it was
found desirable to remove the peat and other undesirable
dirt down to rock and replace with pit run sand for the
driveway area in front of Fire Station #19 and also the
cross over between Edgcumbe Road as this work was not cover-
ed in the original contract and will have to be done; and,
at the request of the Commissioner of Public Safety, negotia-
tions have been conducted with the contractor who agrees to
do this work for $1,030.00 for the labor and material involv-
ed.
It is, therefore, requested that a resolution be submitted
to the Council authorizing this extra in the amount of
$1,030.00 to Contract Number L- 5938 -A to cover the above
described work.
