Winkel- -aa.a _va uaaaaa•�c�r,,a aaa,.ua� }icia„a�tvt, An ordinance granting permission of, Hof'fm4IffMrniF4- � x' Mart to wreck and remove an existing step heretofore constructed and maintained in the same area and to construct and maintain a new cement or concrete step in the public sidewalk area as a projection from and for use in conjunction with the premises designated as No. 104 East Tenth Street, upon the south side of said East Tenth Street, commencing at a point therein approximately 101 feet west of the west line of Robert Street, the east and west line whereof to represent a length of six feet and the north and south lines whereof to represent, in_ each case, a depth of seven inches. This is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That permission and authority are - hereby granted to Hoffman Furniture Mart to wreck and remove an existing step heretofore constructed and maintained in the same area and to construct and maintain a new cement or con- crete step in the public sidewalk area as a projection from .and for use in conjunction with the premises designated.as No. 104 East Tenth Street, on the south side of said East Tenth ,""'Street, commencing at a point therein approximately,101 feet west of the west line of Robert Street, the east and west line whereof to represent a length of six feet and the north and south lines whereof to represent, in each case, a depth of seven inches. Section 2. The Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authori 2ed to issue a permit to said Hoffman Furniture Mart for the construction and maintenance of said step upon its. compliance with the following conditions, viz: 1. Said permittee shall construct said step entirely at its own expense, under the supervision and to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Works, and in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the Chief Engineer. 2. Said permittee shall pay the cost of engineering and inspection of said work, and for the publication of this ordinance. 3. Said permittee shall furnish a bond to the City of Saint Paul in the sum of $10,000.00, conditioned to comply with all the terms of this ordinance and to indemnify and save harmless said City from'all liability, charges, loss, judgments, suits, costs--or expense that may accrue to person or property occasioned by the making of said improvement or arising out of the same.
