ZONING, CITY 1313 CITY MAIL AND COURT NOUSS Mr. Joseph Okoneski City Clerk Building Dear Sir: OF SAINT PAUL SAINT PAUL a, MINNESOTA April 29, 1958 . —A This is in the matter of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority to rezone a portion of the•Western Redevelopment Area. The property under conside:y tion consists of ll small scattered parcels inadvertently omitted.in the Housing and Redevelopment Authority''s petition passed by the City Council on April '17, 1958 and is within the area bounded by University Avenue on the north, Rice Street on the east, Western Avenue on the west; and Rondo Street on the south. The exact legal description and physical limits of the pro- perty are described in the petition and map which are.enclosed with this report. This petition proposes to rezone from "Bf1 Residence and "C" Residence to "C" Residence and "Commercial" certain property in the Western - Redevelopment Area for the purpose of carrying out the Redevelopment Plan first approved by the City Council on March 1957. This petition in no way alters the plan previously approved by the Council. However, this rezoning is necessary to carry out the land use plan for the area as previously approved by the Council for the intended residential and commercial uses. Therefore, inasmuch as the Planning Board on February 13, 1957, officially approved the proposed redevelopment for the Western Redevel- opment Area, and the proposed land uses are in accordance with the best in- terests of the community as a,whole, and further that this petition in no way varies from this intended plan, the Board of Zoning recommends that this petition'be granted.
