A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is. -improve Randolph Avenue from 200 feet west of
Syndicate Street to West Seventh Street by surfacing the existing brick and asphalt
pavements.with new asphaltic concrete; by surfacing the existing track area pavement
with asphaltic concrete; by resetting old curb or constructing new curbs and sidewalks
where necessary; by reconstructing the paving, curbing and sidewalks on intersecting
streets where not -in conformity with said improvement and by doing all other work
which is necessary and incidental to said improvement,
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to-prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

Dear Sir:
I transmit herewith a preliminary estimate of cost for the repaving
of Randolph Avenue from 200 feet west of Syndicate Street to West Seventh
Street by surfacing the existing brick and asphalt pavements with new asphal -.,-
tic concrete; by surfacing the existing track area pavement with asphaltic
concrete; by resetting old curb or constructing new curbs and sidewalks wher
necessary; by reconstructing the paving, curbing and sidewalks on intersectig Z`
streets where not in conformity with said improvement and by doing all other
work which is necessary and incidental to said improvement, under Preliminary
Order C. F. 185569, approved December 24, 1957.
