1 WHEREAS, the American Public Works Association has invited Public Works Director Bruce
2 Beese to participate in the 2009 APWA Public Policy Forum in Washington, DC, held April 20-22,

5 WHEREAS, the American Public Works Association has offered to provide two nights lodging,
6 and transportation at a value of $869.20 to attend said event: now

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council on behalf of the citizens of
Saint accepts the gift of lodging and transportation from the American Public Works Association
and appropriates it to the public purpose of Public Works Director Bruce Beese's attendance at
the 2009 APWA Public Policy Forum; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council determines this to have public purpose and the
Council extends its thanks and appreciation to the American Public Works Association for its
generosity and public service in this matter.
