IMREAS, The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of
the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period
from March 5th to March 13th which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees of the City Clerk's Office for more than eight
hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Preparing for the election of March 11, 1958 •
AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
The office was open until 9 P. Me March 5, 6, and
?, for instruction meetings for election judges
and for election judges to pick up their supplies
and card cabinets. The office was open from 6 A.M.
until 12 PM. Election Day.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
