Resolved, That the proper city officers
" are hereby authorized to pay certain
employes in, the Department of Public
Utilities for extra employment as de-
scribed in the resolution.

WHEREAS, the' Commissioner of.Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from April 16, 1958 to April 30, 1958 inclusive
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of
the Department of Public Utilities for more than eight hours per
day_or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Checking bus schedules and loadings, and
Supervising the activities of the City Market,
and'
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-6
stances:
Submission by the Street Railway Company of proposed
.,schedule changes, and
Saturday work made necessary because of increased
,activity at the City Market,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employeeswho performed such work in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Council's Salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
