PAUL OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNGIL ,RESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSION COU FILENCIL NO. _ WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported.in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from April 16 to 301 1958 which rendered necessary the employment of-certain employees of the Department`of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week -in doing the following work-, Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency Operating equipment on emergency repair wort Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & Taking care of complaints at city yards repair work holidays Drawing plans &, specifications for grading jobs Mimeographing grade profiles Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Completing payroll work Council File No. 187241 —By Adrian P. Winkel - Resoived, That the proper City of -' ficers are hereby authorized to pay; certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council May 1, 1958. Approved May 1, 1958. (May 3, 1958) , And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets' free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, plans & specifications for grading jobs, taking complaints at city yards, completing sidewalk assessments, need for grade profiles, keeping city equipment in good running condition, inspecting city improvement jobs done by contractors and completing payroll work. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees.who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. $446.
