WHEREAS, based on previous yeazs, Parks and Recreation anticipates receiving donations from individuals and
organizations to support the operation of the Spring Parks Cleanup event, and;
WHEREAS, in addition to donations provided, Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit donations specifically
for this event, and;
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation intends to use donations to provide the advertising, materials and supplies, and
seroices needed for the 2609 Spring Parks Cleanup event as well as to provide food and refreshments for staff and
volunteers at the various sites, and;
WI�REAS, upon the completion of the event, a resolution will be presented to the council to formally accept and
thank the donors, and;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Parks and Recreation is authorized to solicit donations for the 2009 Spring
Parks Cleanup event, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Parks and Recreation is authorized to use these donations to buy food and
refreshments for volunteers who participate in the Spring Parks Cleanup Event.

Please review the attached green sheetand corresponding resolution regarding fund 860 (Parks
and Recreation Grants/Aids), activity 33196 (Environmental Stewardship).
The Environmental Services program requests permission to seek and accept donations for the
23` annual Spring Parks Cleanup volunteer event on April 11, 2009.
We anticipate receiving donations of goods and services from individuals and organizations to
support the operation of the Spring Parks Cleanup event. We intend to use these donations to
provide advertising, materials and supplies, and services needed for the 2009 Spring Pazks
Cleanup event, as well as to provide food and refreshments for volunteers at the various sites.
Based on success in previous years, we anticipate donations of approximately $15,000 in goods
and services (no cash). Sponsors for 2009, committing goods and services aze: Peace Coffee
(coffee), Xcel Energy (Blue Sky Guides), Blue Sky Guide (Blue Sky Guides), Pioneer Press
(advertising), Patagonia (messenger bags for door prizes), SuperMom's (donuts), Kowalski s
Mazkets (grocery items for kickoff events), and Roots and Fruits (apples and oranges).
