BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Stat. Sec. 161.36, the Commissioner of Transportation be appointed as Agent of
the City of Saint Paul, to accept as its a�ent, federal aid funds which may be made available for eli�ible transportation related
projects.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mayor and the City Engineer aze hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the
City to execute and enter into an agreement with the Commissioner of Transportation prescribin� the terms and conditions of
said federal aid participation as set forth and contained in "Minnesota Department of Transportation A�ency A�eement
Numbers 93641 and 93642", copies of which said agreements were befoze the City Council and which aze made a part hereof by
reference. '

Initiating Problem, Issues, Opportunity (Who, What, When, Where, Why):
The Mazshall Avenue Bike Lane Project and Como Bikeway Project aze Federally-funded SAFETEA-LU projects funded through
the NonMotorized Transportation Pilot Program administered by Transit for Livable Communities. Preliminary Engineering costs are
reunbursable costs. In order to get reimbursed for Preliminary Engineering costs, Agreements between the City and the Minnesota
Department of Transpor[ation mus[ be executed. Said Agreements must include a certified copy of the Resolution authorizing the City
to enter �to the Agreements.
Advantages If Approved:
Federal funds wili fund all Preliminary Engineering costs thereby maximizing federal aid participation in the project.
