allowed under Contract L 5738 -A, between the City of Saint
Paul and the Sheehy Construction Company, said contract for
the General Construction of the Public Health Center Build-
ing, Saint Paul, Minnesota, and said extra to.cover the ad-
ditional rock excavation which was necessary, this work hav-
ing been requested by the Commissioner of Public Safety,
and an agreement made with the contractor, and a memorandum
of said agreement having been filed with the Comptroller and
countersigned by him.

Contract Number L- 5738 -A was awarded to Sheehy Construction
Company for General Construction of the Public Health Cen-
ter Building, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The specifications for this work called for 3,500 cubic
yards of rock excavation and the contractor stipulated, in
his bid, a price of $2.75 per cubic yard for any additional
rock excavation. It has now been determined that there are
350 additional cubic yards, which, at $2.75 per cubic yard,
makes a total of $962.50, which is a reasonable amount for
the labor and material involved.
It is, therefore, requested that a resolution be submitted
to the Council which will authorize this extra in the amount
of $962.50 to cover the above.
