Limited funding is available and an application process is required. Program Description: The purpose of this Pilot Program is to make appropriate fa�ade improvements to historic buildings in downtown Saint Paul in advance of the 2008 Republican National Convention in order to highlight Saint Paul's rich architectural heritage. Program Funding: Funds for this pilot program will be available through the City of Saint Paul's special assessment process. The total amount of available funds is $2,000,000, with a maximum of $500,000 per building. Special assessments under this pilot program shall bear interest at the highest rate applicable for any other special assessment levied by the City. ApplicationlApproval Process: Applications will be considered on a first come basis. All proposed fagade improvements will be reviewed by staff of the Heritage Preservation Commission ("HPC"), and must meet the Secretary of Interior Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. Applications must be approved by the Saint Paul City Council no later than June 4, 2008 in order to be eligible to participate in this pilot program.
