WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, ,Auditorium, Museums and Stadia has
reported in accordance with Section 53 of the Dity Charter, the existence of an
emergency during the period from January 1st through February lst, 1958 which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of
Libraries, .Auditorium, Museums and Stadia, Bureau of Auditorium, more than eight
hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard., ventilating systems and also supervise during
the many activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trained help available to work during hockey games, concerts,
Women's Institut a programs, and Winter 'Carnival Events held in the
building. This time includes Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of
the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
