WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accordance with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period
from October 1, 1958 to October 31, 1958, which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees in the Departmnt of Public Safety for more than eight hours
per day, or forty hours per week, in doing the f ollowing work;
maintenance work in the Bureau of Building 1aintenance and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Cleaning and remodeling third floor of the Public Safety Building,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provision of
the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
