RESOLVED, That the proper city officials be and they herein are authorized
and instructed to enter into an agreement with the Soo Line Railroad for the
construction of a permanent reinforced concrete bridge to replace the existing
timber bridge at the intersection of Jackson Street and the Soo Line Railroad's
right of way and track approximately 500 feet north of the center line of
Maryland Avenue in the city of St. Paul, said agreement providing that the
construction cost of this bridge, together with the design and construction
engineering and inspection and extra costs for maintaining railway traffic
during construction, be divided equally between the City and the Railroad, with
the City to prepare the plans and specifications and to receive bids for the work
and supervise the construction; and be it farther
RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Public Works be authorized and instructed
to apply to the Minnesota Railroad and Warehouse Commission for approval of the
plans and specifications in connection with the construction of the aforesaid
reinforced concrete bridge.
