RESOLVED, upon appeal of Schroeder Milk Company, Inc.
from the decision of the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds
and Public Buildings, and upon the favorable recommendation
of the Board of Zoning, permission is hereby given to said
Schroeder Milk Company, Inc. to construct an extension of a
non- conforming building adjacent to the southwest corner of
West Minnehaha Avenue and Griggs Street, being described as
Lot 1, Block 1, Syndicate No. 5 Addition, and that there is
hereby established as the building line on West Minnehaha
.Avenue, as to said Lot 1, Block 1, Syndicate No. 5 Addition,
the north property line thereof, in accordance with -apllicantls
plans and his letters dated September 6th, 1958 and September
23, 1958.

The City Council requested that you prepare a resolution granting the
attached appeal of the Schroeder Milk Company, Inc. to extend a non - conforming
building and to establish a new building line on property at the southwest cor-
ner of W. Minnehaha Ave. and Griggs St., on Lot 1, Block 1, Syndicate No. 5
Addition, in accordance with appellant's letters dated Sept. 6th, 1958 and
Sept. 23, 1958, and plan attached thereto.

Dear Sir;
This is in the matter of the appeal-of, the Schroeder Milk Company, Inc. to
extend a non - conforming building, and to establish a new building line on
property 'located adjacent to the southwest corner of West Minnehaha Avenue
and Griggs Street. This property is described as Lot 1, Block 1,, Syndicate
No. 5 Addition.
The zoning is "B" Residence. The property under consideration has a front-
age of 40 feet on West Minnehaha and 124.35 feet on Griggs Street.
The applicant proposes to expand the first floor of this building by adding
a.,12 foot by 20 foot addition for a large storage cooler on the westerly
side of this building. This addition would be in line with the existing
store building which is built along the north property.line on West Minnehaha
Avenue.. There will be a four foot sideyard between the addition and the
property to the west.
The applicant has filed a petition signed by ten out of thirteen of the pro-
perty owners within 100 feet of the area affected in favor of this proposed
development.
The Board of Zoning finds no objection to this development from the stand-)
point of adjacent land use, and recommends the extension of this non- conforming
building and the establishment of the building line as the north property
line, all in accordance with the applicant's letters dated September 6th,
1958 and September 23, 1958, and plan attached thereto.

Gentlemen:
We have been operating a dairy store at 1220
West Minnehaha, and it is now necessary to
repair the building and replace the-worn out
equipment.
We would like to add an addition of 12' x 20'
to place a large storage cooler in the most
advantages position.
,Under Legislature Zoning Code Chapter 6403,
Paragraph A, we would like to request an extension
of usage in order that we may construct this
,addition.
This lot is on the South West Corner of Ndnnehaha
1& Griggs and the legal description is Lot 1,
Block 1, Syndicate Number 5 addition.

The council referred.to the Traffic Committee the
zoning appeal of the Schroeder Milk Company, Inc. for
permit to extend their building at the southwest corner
of West Minnehaha and Griggs by adding a 12 ft. by 20 ft.
addition on the first floor, on the westerly side of the
building, in line with the existing stDDe building on the
north property line of West Minnehaha. The purpose of
the addition is for a storage cooler. The matter was
referred to the Traffic Committee for a study of traffic
conditions at that location, because of the claim of s.ewa --
eral property owners in the area that the proposed build-
ing addition would create or increase a traffic hazard.
The Traffic Committee considered this matter at its
regular meeting of October 20, 1958, and wishes to report
that there appears to be no reason to believe that the
proposed building addition will materially affect or cause
traffic hazards in the vicinity of this intersection.
The committee recommends, therefore, from the standpoint
of traffic oontrol ,,that the application of Schroeder Milk
Company, Inc. be approved.
