excavating and placement of approximately six yards of con-

Contract Number G -1490 was awarded to Moore Construction
Company for General Work in connection with Alterations to
the Saint Paul Public Library, Saint Paul.
During the progress of the work, it was found that the sub -
grade materials below the footings for the balustrades on
the exterior of the building were of questionable bearing
and we feel that the footings for this should be enlarged.
We_have negotiated with the contractor on this and he has
quoted us a price of $200.00 for this work. This includes
approximately six extra cubic yards of concrete, and labor
for excavating, forming, and placing of concrete. This
amount of money is reasonable for the work involved and
it is therefore recommended that a resolution be submitted
to the Council authorizing this extra in the amount of $200.00
to�cover this work.
