WHEREAS, By Resolution Council File No. 181032, approved January 9, 1957,
the City Council approved plans and specifications for the construction of the
foregoing Minnesota Highway Department projects,,being the Maryland Avenue Bridge
and the construction of a portion of Trunk Highway 390, now identified as Trunk
Highway 35-2 = 390, in the vicinity of Maryland Avenue in the City of St. Paul;
and l
WBERF.AS, Subsequent investigation of traffic requirements indicates that
the alignment of the circles at the Maryland Avenue interchange is below the
standard set up for interstate highway construction, and since the traffic
volumes on Circle A, Circle C, and Circle D are not sufficient to warrant their
retention, the elimination of these three circles from the interchange to reduce
the inherent traffic hazards becomes necessary; said elimination making it
possible to reduce the degree of curvature on the ramps and allow easier entrance
or exit to-and from the interstate highway; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That Supplemental Agreement No. 11 of State Contract No. 9137,
covering the elimination of the foregoing items from the original plan and from
the contract, be approved.
