WHEREAS THE COMMISSIONER OF LIBRARIES AUDITORIUM MUSEUMS AND STADIA
HAS REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE CITY CHARTER,
THE EXISTENCE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER V
TO 30, 1958, INCLUSIVE, WHICH RENDERED NECESSARY THE EMPLOYMENT
OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE ,DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM,
MUSEUMS, AND STADIA, BUREAU OF PUBLIC ,LIBRARIES, FOR MORE THAN
EIGHT FLOURS PER DAY OR FORTY HOURS PER WEEK IN DOING THE FOLLOWING
WORK:
(1) COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, (2) .EMPTYING BOOK RETURN
BOX ON DAYS WHEN THE MAIN LIBRARY IS CLOSED, AND (3) DISPLAYING
AMERICAN FLAG ON LABOR DAYS
AND WHEREAS, THIS EMERGENCY AROSE BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS AND
CIRCUMSTANCES:
COVERING,BOOKMOBI`LE SCHEDULE, EMPTYING BOOK RETURN BOX, AND
DISPLAYING AMERICAN FLAG ON A HOLIDAY,
THEREFORE BE.IT RESOLVED THAT THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED
TO PAY THE EMPLOYEES WHO PERFORMED SUCH WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE PROVISION OF THE COUNCIL'S SALARY ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE N0.
6446.
