RESOLVED, that'W. R. Stephens Company be permitted to
install and operate a public parking lot on property at the
southeast corner of Eighth and Wacouta 'Streets, on the
southwesterly 50 feet of Lots 1 and 2, and all of Lots 9 and
10 except the northeasterly 12.5 feet and except the southeasterly 18.5
feet of the southwesterly 50 feet of Lots 2 and 9, Block 3,
Whitney and Smithes Addition, according to plans approved July
10, 1958 and subject to compliance with the provisions of all
ordinances governing the operation of parking lots, and subject
to the further condition that sidewalks abutting said premises
be kept clean and free of ice and snow at all times.

application of W. R. Stephens Co. for permit to°nstall and operate a public
parking lot on property at the southeast corner of Eighth and Wacouta Sts.,
on the SW'ly 50 f "t. of Lots 1 and 2 and all of Lots 9 and 10 except the NE'ly
12.5 ft. and, except the SE'ly 18.5 ft. of the Sihy 50 ft. of Lots 2 and 9,
Block 3, Whitney and Smith's Addition, in accordance with plans approved
July 10, 1958.

This is in the matter of the W. R. Stephens Company for a permit
to install and operate a public parking lot for 40 cars on property
located adjacent to the southeast corner of Eighth and Wacouta
Streets. This property is described as the sw'ly 50' of Lots 1 `
and 2, and all of lots 9 and 10 except the ne'ly 12.5' and except
the se'ly 18.5' of the sw'ly 50' of Lot-..-2 and 9, Block 3 Whitney
and Smith Addition. The zoning is light: ,industry.

The adjacent land uses are as follows: north across Eighth Street
are the parking lot of the Church of St. Mary and an Auto Body shop;
west across Wacouta Street is the Savage Boy's Club; south and ad-
joining is a two story brick ,building used commercially which f ronts'''�
on Wacouta Street, also various commercial uses across an alley which
front on East Seventh Street; east.and adjoining is the Northwest
Alignment Service.

The area under consideration has a frontage of 137J' along Eighth
Street and 79' along Wacouta Street.-
The proposed layout and operation of the parking area have been
approved by the Traffic Engineer, and applicant's plans meet exist-
ing standards for this type of facility. Field investigation discloses
no objection from the standpoint, }of adjacent land use or traffic.
In consideration of these factors, the Board of Zoning recommends
that this permit for a public parking lot be granted in accordance
with plans approved July 10, 1958.
