COUNCIL RESOLUTION- GENERAL FORM
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from August 16 to 31, 1958, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
of the Department of Parks, Playgrounds and Public
Buildings for more than eight hours per day,-or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Supervision, operation, maintenance, care
and protection of public parks and play-
grounds and'of their facilities.
And WI]EHAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Seasonal requirements for protection of public
property and pursuit of departmental activities,
such as: Heavy week -end patronage of public
parks and their facilities, the Zoo, Conserv-
atory, picnic grounds, refectories, ball fields,
golf courses, and Phalen Beach; wind damage to
boulevard trees required immediate attention;
a breakdown at the municipal asphalt plant;
and a breakin at Como Picnic refectory.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city of ficers
are hereby authorijed to pay the employees who per-
formed such work in accordance with the provisions
of the Councilts salary ordinance, Ordinance No.
6446.
