DATE WHEREAS, 't has been reported to the Council.by the Commissioner of Public Works th t a sudden and unexpected emergency has arisen due to un- precedented wind orm and heavy rain on August 4, 1958, creating immediate necessity to remo fallen trees from streets and walks and the debris from streets and se ers, said condition creating an extremely hazardous situation and potentkal further damage, injury and destruction, and WHEREAS, it has aeen estimated by said Department that the cost of alleviating said dangerous condition will not be less than the sum of Thirty -five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), and WHEREAS, there are no vailable funds for expenditure to relieve said dangerous condition, and4� WHEREAS, by reason of theRptemises above, an emergency exists within the provisions of Section 206 ofNtfie City Charter, therefore be it t - RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Comptroller be and they are hereby authorized to borrow, on behakf'of the City of Saint Paul, a sum not in excess of Thirty -five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), and to execute and deliver to the party or parties making such loan the promissory note or notes of the City of Saint Paul, payable to such party or parties, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4) per cent per annum, said note or notes to be payable one year from the date of execution thereof; be it I %\ ;` FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds so borrowed be credited to the Department of Public Works, Storm Damage Fund, Code 13 -P.
