MIMRAS; the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from August 16th to August 31st, 1958, inc., which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water
Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week
in doing the following work:
(1){ Repairing pumping and control equipment.
(2)i Working extra shifts at Filtration Plant and at various pumping
Istations.
(3) Reading water level gauges and treating lakes with copper sulphate.
(4) Taking emergency calls at storeyard.
(5) Driving country crew to and from work.
AND WEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
(1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours.
(2) Illness of employees on regular shifts.
R ) In order to give consumers a continuous supply of pure water.
) Nights and Sundays.
(5) 1 On account of- scattered work locations.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized,to pay-the employees who performed such work in accordance
withithe provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 16446.

WHERNS, the Total Addition is 292.00, now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the City of St. Paul through its City Council
approves the foregoing Addition made in accordance with the
Specifioations, in the sum of $ 292.00,, which amount is
;to be added to the lump sun consideration nemed in the con-
tract, known as Comptrollerls Contract L- 5963 -A, for the
making of the above Improvement.
The Commissioner of Public Works has agreed with the Con-
tractor that the sum of $ 292.00 is the correct amount to
be added to the above Contract.
