WHEREAS, The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section
53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
I
the period from August 7th to August 19th which rendered
i
necessary the employment of certain employees of the City
Clerks Office for more than eight hours per day or forty
{
hours per week in doing the following works
Preparing for the election of September 9th,
i

AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances:
The office is required by Minnesota Election Laws
to remain open nine nights until 9 P. M. for
registration of voters.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
i
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
i
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary
ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.

tain employes in the City Clerk's Office
— Bureau of "Elections for extra em-
ployment as described in 'the resolu-
tion.
