Resolved, That the proper city offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department
of Public Works for extra employment
as described in the resolution.

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from December 11 to 17, 1958, whcih rendered necessary
the employement of certain employees of the Department of Public Works
for more than eight hours per Cay or forty hours per week in doing
the following work:
Removing snow from city streets and sanding icy streets
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of keeping city streets free from snow and ice
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the
prdvisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
