A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is to grade and surface with bituminous material
McKinley St. from Arlington Ave. to Pascal St. to a width of 30 ft. from Arlington Ave.
approximately 325 ft. North; thence varying from *Pft. t014 ft. at a point approximately
365 ft. North of Arlington Ave.; thence to a width of 40 ft. to Pascal St.

and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and 'submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

Some of the holes in the street are rather deep and I am
of the opinion will hold Mater for several days following a
rain. This condition is unsatisfactory from a health stand-
point and particularly since nearby residents feel-an improve..

Public Works Department with a recommendation for grading and
improving.

Regarding the - :�av_in of A'cKinley St_ from Arlington Ave.
to Pascal St., we, a majority & he property "ownerb concerned
are opposed.
',Ie feel that the Project is not only unnecessary but also
a. financial burden on most of those affected.
This matter is presently under consideration by the Honor-
able City Council and is known as Preliminary Order Number
189624, File Number 14267.
The very nature of the street earmarks it as an extremely
unecessary thoroughfare and would add a very definite motor
hazard for the families in the area with small children as it
would border the rear of Lost of the homes affected.
Most of the concerned properties have access to, and pay
taxes for the maintenance of one street. The suggested paving
of this thoroughfare would be not only unnecessary but extreme-
' ly unjust.
Below are the signatures of the property owners affected
who are opposed to this.
