WHEREAS,, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
'during the period from December lot to Decamber 15th 1958 ince,
which rendered necessary the employment -of certain employees of the
Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
1 Repairing Filtration Plant equipment
2 ; Working extra shifts at varous stations:
3 Faking emergency calls at Storeyard:
41 Finishing installation of,_and repairing water mains and
service connections:
�5 Driving country crew to and from work locations.
6, Patroling conduit for leaks, and reading water level gauges:
AND WHEEASj this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
(1 Necessary to do work during low consumption hours4
2 ' Illness of employees on regular shifts:
3 fights and Sundays.
4 In order to,speed repairs and installations:
5' On account of scattered work locations:
6 In order to be able to move crew to another location next day.
THERISF'CIRE, BE IT RECDLVED, that the proper city officers are bareby
- author;Lzed,to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446i,
