AIL_ RESOLUTION - GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONI X9'314 COUNCIL 1 ILN NO WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from December 1 to 15, 1958, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of thelDepartment of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty Ihours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repairs Dispatching men for emergency work ' Dispatching motor equipment for emergency work Operating equipment on emergency work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing snow and sanding icy streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant continuously Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading jobs Mimeographing grade profiles Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Council File No. 190314 —By Adrian P. Winkel— Resolved That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of as Public scribed for in theresolution. Adopted by the Council December 30, 1958. iApprov edDDcecembe201698- 58j And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping streets free from snow and ice, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking complaints at city yards, completing plans for grading jobs, need for grade profiles, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Councils salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
