WHEREAS, the United States Government, through its
proper officers, has hereby elected to extend its period of
occupancy from January 1, 1959, through December 31, 1959,
under Lease No. GS -06B -4500, dated May 23, 1957, said lease
being' between the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the
United States Government and covering approximately 10,376
square feet of floor space in the building located at 100
East Tenth Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota, comprising third
floor (rear), fourth floor (rear) and the following rooms
on fourth floor: rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and record vault,
said election being made by the United States Government under
and pursuant to the option provisions contained in said lease;
and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has
informed this Council that the renewal by the Federal Govern-
ment of the lease under all existing terms and conditions of
said lease is acceptable to his Department, under whose juris-
diction the said building is operated, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Council that it hereby assents to .
the - -election by the Federal Government of its option of renewal
undr said lease and does hereby extend the period of occupancy
thereunder from January 1, 1959, through December 31, 1959,
under all the terms and conditions as exist in the original
lease in said premises.

I transmit herewith a formal resolution of assent
by the Council to extension of lease to the Federal Govern-
ment of the floor space in building located at 100 East Tenth
Street, Saint Paul 2, Minnesota.
When this resolution is passed by the Council, the
resolution, together with the letter renewal notice of the
Federal Government, should be filed with the original lease
now on file in the office of the Comptroller.
