WHEREAS, The City Architect has requested the City
Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in
removing a dangerous structure at No. 176- lVi:Thomas Avenue,
more particularly described as East One -half of Lot 12, Block
1, Magoffin & Breckenridge's Addition to Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owner of
the property is Catholic Diocese of Superior, Wisconsin,
copies of proceedings herein having been sent to Odin G. Nelson
and Marion 0. Nelson, 722 Berwood Avenue, Saint Paul 10, Minn.,
Jean J. Burke, 700 Sherburne Avenue, Saint Paul 4 Minn., Berkey
Realty Co., 1692 Selby Avenue, Saint Paul 4 Minn. and Earl Dolan,
1024 Pioneer Building, Saint Paul 1 Minnesota, thea--fore be it
.RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
a public hearing in the Council Chamber at ten o'clock A. M. on
the 30th day of December 1158, to consider any complaints about
the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the
amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify, by mail,
the record owner of the property in question, and all other
persons who appear to have an interest in said property, at the
last known address.

A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this
date, for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as
176- 176V22 Thomas Avenue, described as East 1/2 of Lot 12, Block 1,
Magoffin & Breckenridge'ts Addition to Saint Paul. The property
is owned by

The following resolutions were adopted by the City Council in this
matter:
C.F. 186475, adopted March 11, 1958 (published March 15, 1958)
set a public hearing at 10 a. m. on April 3, 1958.
C.F. 186884, adopted April 8, 1958 (published April 12, 1958) or-
dered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the
owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof.
C.F. 187552, adopted by the Council May 21, 1958 (published May
24, 1958) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And
Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the
two story frame building thereon, and do any and all things there-
in necessary for the protection of life, limb and adjoining prop-
erty.
C.F. 188205, adopted by the Council July 2, 1958

August 9, 1958 approved the award of the contract
to Patsy Wrecking Company for the sum of $345.00 i n
with specifications and Formal Bid No. 7250.

C.F. 190095, approved by the Council November 23, 1958 (pub-
lished December 6, 1958,) provided that the wrecking expense
of $345.00 and the expenses of the Department of Parks, Play-
grounds And Public Buildings in connection with the condemna-
tion in the amount of $67.25, making a total of $412.25, be
paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings Fund No. 31 -G -23; and,
in the event said sum proves collectible from the owner, same
is to be credited to this fund.
The 'building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a Regis-
tered Bill No. 4 -1702 was mailed to the owners.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days
notice, to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred
and to confirm the amount.
The Council resolution confirming the expenses should end
with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of ex-
pense for the purpose of securing a lien on the property.
