WHEREAS, the City Architect has requested the City Council
to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the
expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a
dangerous structure at No. 1374 East Sixth Street, more particularly
described as Lot 6, Block 2, Sargent's Third.-Addition to St. Paul,
according to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office
of the Register of Deeds in and for Ramsey County, Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owners of
the property are Charles H. Underwood and Eliza Underwood,
1374 East Sixth Street, Saint Paul 6 Minnesota, George R. Schultz,
c/o Mrs. Ruby Schultz, 102 N. St. Albans Street, Saint Paul 4
Minnesota, appearing as contract purchaser, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
a public hearing in the Council Chamber at ten o'clock A. M. on
the 30th day•of December 1958., to consider any complaints about
the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm
the amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail
the record owner of the property in question, and all other persons
who appear to have -*'an interest in said property, at the last known

A statement of expense has been filed with the City Council on this
date, for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as
1374 East Sixth Street, on Lot 6, Block 2, Sargentrs Third Addi-
tion to St. Paul. The property was listed in the name of
Record Owner: Chas. H. 8 Eliza Underwood, 1374 E. Sixth St.
St. Paul 6, Minnesota
Contr. Purch: Geo. R. Schultz, % Mrs. Ruby Schultz, 102 N.
St. Albans St., St. Paul 4, Minnesota
The following resolutions were adopted by the Council in this mat-
ter:
C.F. 186453, adopted by the Council March 7, 1958 (published
March 15, 1958) set a public hearing at 10 A. M. on April 1, 1958.
C.F. 186886, adopted by the Council April 8, 1958 (published
April 12, 1958) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost
and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.
C.F. 187550, adopted by the Council May 21, 1958 (published May
24, 1958) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And
Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the
one and one half story frame dwelling thereon, and do any and all
things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and
adjoining property.
Y.•_ C.F. 188116, adopted by the Council June 26, 1958 (published June
28, 1958) ;approves the specifications prepared by this office for
the wrecking of this building and authorized the Purchasing Agent
to advertise for bids.
C.F. 188608, adopted by the Council August 5, 1958 (published
August 9, 1958', approved the award of the contract for wrecking to

Patsy Wrecking, Company for the sum of $327.00 in accordance wi
specifications and Formal Bid No. 72 ,82.

C.F. 189120, adopted by the Council September 12, 1958 (publish-
ed September 20, 1958) provided that the wrecking expense of
$327.00 and the expenses of the Department of Parks, Playgrounds
And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the
amount of $64„33, making a total of $391.33 be paid out of
Wrecking Condemned Buildings Fund No. 31 G 23; and, in the event `
said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be cred-
ited to this fund.
The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a Regis-
tered Bill No. 4 -1695 was mailed to the owner.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days 1
notice, to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred
and to confirm the amount.
The Council resolution confirming the expenses should end with
a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of'expense
for the purpose of securing a lien on the property.
