WHEREAS, the City Architect, has requested the City
Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the C bty of Saint Paul in removing
the dangerous structures at No. 251 Marshall Place, more par-
ticularly described as Lot 11, Block 3, Bailey's Addition to
Rondo Addition to St. Paul, and `

WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owners /are
Herman Manteuffel and Eva Manteuffel, 251 Marshall Place, Saint
Paul -2 Minnesota, copies of proceedings herein having been sent
to Paul Manteuffel,994 N. Chatsworth St. Saint Paul 4 Minnesota,
and Fred N. Peterson, Attorney, 919 New York Building, Saint Paul
1 Minnesota, therefore be it.
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
a public hearing in the Ceancil Chamber at 10 otclock A. M. on the

Dear Council Members:
A stat ',ement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this
date, for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known
as 251 Marshall Place, on Lot 11, Block 3, Baileyts Addition to
Rondo Addition to St. Paul. The property was listed in the
name of

St. Paul, Minnesota

The following resolutions were adopted by the City Council in
this matter.
C.F. 186452, adopted by the Council March 7, 1958 (published
March 15, 1958) set a public hearing date at 10 A. M. on April
2, 1958.
C.F. 186883, adopted by the Council April 8, 1958 (published April
12, 1958) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and
expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control there-
of.
C.F. 187551, adopted by the Council May 21, 1958 (published May
24, 1958) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And Pub-
lic Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the two
story frame building and six car garage thereon, and do any and all
things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and
adjoining property.

specifications and formal bid No. 7249.
C.F. 189121, adopted by the Council September 12, 1958 (pub-
lished September 20, 1958) provided that the wrecking expense
of $375.00 and the expenses of the Department of Parks, Play-
grounds And Public Buildings in connection with the condemna-
tion in the amount of $56.91, making a total of $431.91, be
paid out of Wrecking Condemned Buildings Fund No. 31 G 23;
and, in the event said sum proves collectible from the owner,
same is to be credited to this fund.
The buildings have now been satisfactorily wrecked and Regis-
tered Bill No. 4 -1696 was mailed to the owners.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten
days notice, to consider any complaints about the expenses
incurred and to confirm the amount.
The Council.resolution confirming the expenses should end
with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement of ex-
pense for the purpose of securing a lien on the property.
