Human Resources was asked by Saint Paul Fire and Safety Services, to conduct ajob study of the Administrative Manager position,
Occupation Code 314B, Grade 24, Salary Schedule 09. A determinarion was made by Human Resources that the classificarion should
be upgraded to Grade 30.
Advantages If Approved:
The Fire and Safety Services organizational structure will be properly sh'uctured to manage the work being performed. The individual
perfotming the duries and responsibilities of the clas'sification will be appropriately compensated.
DisadvanWges ff Approved:
None.
Disadvantages If Not Approved:
Duries and responsibilities would be absorbed by the current employee without an increase in pay.

Executive Services Manager
Why it is absolutely necessary to fill this vacant position before January 1, 2009?
The position of Executive Services Manager has been filled for the last two years. Additional
duties and responsibilities were added to this position which was the result of the
recommendations of the TriData study, the Fire DepartmenYs Strategic Plan implementation,
and the restructuring of Fire Administration. Submission of this hiring approval request is the
result of a recommendation from a recent Human Resources job classification study.
